Yesterday I finished a video:
Here, I'll just be explaining my inspirations and why exactly this video looks the way it does.
This SiivaGunner rip is what introduced me to the song. I wanted to make a video with it, but I didn't have any initial inspiration for what to do. The samples themselves are things that usually come to me randomly. The Osaka sample was just a video I had lying around, while the Engineer and Link samples were things I just thought 'would sound good.'
Around three days ago, I found "What A Hacker's Astral Observatory Looks Like", which I thought looked really beautiful. Then, Junki sent this video by Lorne on Discord, and both grounded a lot of the visual ideas I would incorporate. For example, the CRT monitor playing the sample being recorded physically is something I've wanted to try out for a while - inspired by Darwin's "Project: Doomsday" (who is a big inspiration to me in general).
I finished the audio for the video that same day and ordered an old monitor online for cheap. It arrived yesterday, which is when I finished the visuals and uploaded it. The second and final part of the video is definitely inspired by the section from 0:33 to 1:02 in "殺してる". To me, it's really cool to see that kind of blank space-in regards to samples-in a YTPMV, since it's a genre that usually has every corner of the video filled with sample visualizations
The monitor itself was recorded with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W710. It is a damn good digital camera that gives a great aesthetic, making it my go-to whenever I need a 'retro' looking video.
Just a quick video because i had a quick idea, though that's how all my videos are, sometimes the ideas take a lot more of my time.
